Fr. Hansoo Park

Fr. Hansoo Park | Chaplain

Born in Seoul, Korea on the Feast Day of St. Anthony of Padua, Fr. Hansoo Antonio Park is the only son and youngest of three siblings. His family moved to Canada in February 1990. He entered the formation for the priesthood at Serra House and St. Augustine’s Seminary in Toronto, and was ordained on May 14th 2005.

Fr. Hansoo’s first assignment was at Blessed Trinity Parish in North York as an Associate Pastor. His second assignment was at St. Francis Xavier Parish in Mississauga, also as an Associate Pastor. Thereafter, he was assigned as the Vocations Director and Rector of Serra House, the Philosophy Seminary of the Archdiocese of Toronto. In this position, he journeyed with many men and women as a spiritual leader and joyful role model. This is one of Fr. Hansoo’s favourite things about priestly life – “Being able to walk and journey with people.”

Fr. Hansoo is now the Pastor of St. Barnabas Parish in Scarborough. In his new role, he hopes to continue walking with others; hearing confessions, and sharing in the lives of his parishioners. Fr. Hansoo has been the chaplain of the UTSC Catholic Chaplaincy since it was founded three years ago.

Erica Figueiredo | Director of Chaplaincy, UTSC & Centennial College

Erica was born in India and lived in Dubai until she was 5. She started Kindergarten in Canada and has been in Scarborough ever since for both high school and her undergrad at UTSC. She completed my Masters of Divinity at Regis college and graduated in Nov. 2015. She is currently the Director of Chaplaincy for UTSC, where she has served since the ministry began three years ago. Erica loves being a campus minister because she has a passion for meeting students in the midst of their doubts, fears, critical questions, hopes, joys and anxieties about the future. As in Mark 9:24, it is a point in life where they can be encouraged to encounter Christ with their belief, trusting that He will help their unbelief and show them His plan for their lives.

Hobbies: mini-golf, board games, eating chocolate

Alexandra Lee Hoy | Campus Minister, UTSC & Centennial College

Alex was born and raised in Scarborough and has a great love for the city. By profession she is a Social Services Worker specialized for Immigrants and Refugees. Alex has been working for the Archdiocese for 6 years and started her work as the first Resettlement Educator for the Office for Refugees Archdiocese of Toronto. She travelled to Jordan in 2015 as a part of the Archdiocese’s launch of Project Hope to interview and identify refugee individuals and families to resettle to Canada through the Private Sponsorship of Refugees Program. Alex later began campus ministry work at the Newman Centre as the Stewardship and Program Coordinator, where the Lord planted a great desire to journey with university students in their faith and to be a support to them. This lead to Alex coming back home to serve as a Campus Minister for UTSC & Centennial College and cherishes every day of it.

Andrea Nicole Carandang | re:gen Campus Missionary

Andrea Nicole was born in the Philippines and moved to Canada when she was 10. She has since lived in Scarborough. She was accepted as a re:gen campus missionary in June 2021, and began working at the UTSC/Centennial Chaplaincy in August 2021, with the desire to journey with students as they work through the joys and sorrows of being a university student and as they get to know and deepen their relationship with God.
